Under 80 days to go :)

We are getting so very close :) Just a few things to update on:

Invitations are being printed as we speak! I just finished the invites themselves, and am printing the RSVP cards now, and then the reception cards. I can't believe its taken me this long to get these going...but I guess that's life :) Envelopes will be here next week, so when I get back from Florida I have about a week to address, assemble, and mail! Luckily I don't have too much else to do these days :) I really like the way they're turning out! I'll put up a pic once I get them all assembled!

We've been a little worried lately about our swelling guestlist fitting into our dining hall (even tried to get the bigger hall, but it was booked), but I think I've finally gotten mom to stop coming up with more people! And I got her to go on out to Camp Weed and see what she thinks about the space. She thinks we'll be fine, especially since there's a big patio to set up some extra tables.

Other than that I'm just trying to get all the little things done - figuring out how to decorate our sweetheart table, getting our hair and makeup appointments finalized, and picking out songs, etc. It'll be here before I know it!

Brian's family is coming in this weekend for his birthday, so tomorrow we get to clean up the apartment and bake a cake! I'm excited to have company again :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Wedding Day Hair :)

I need opinions!! Here's what I'm leaning towards for my hair:

But with a pretty rose pinned on the side, something like this:
or maybe a couple of small roses (I'm sticking with roses, since ALL the other flowers will be roses). I could also do a hot pink rose to match the other flowers, but I kinda like the white.

So, what do you all think??

a quick post before I start dinner :)

Hi all! Just wanted to do a quick update, then I've got to start on dinner :) Just a few things:

- The paper is here for our invitations!! And I went and bought extra ink today for the printer, so tomorrow I should be able to start printing!!

- We figured out how to save money on the flowers - my aunt Lilah (who has the greenest thumb ever, and used to arrange flowers) has offered to help put together the centerpieces and other arrangements for me :) For the centerpieces I'm sticking with the square glass vase, filled with blueberries (Lilah's idea - great way to get my blue in the arrangement!) and my hot pink roses :) I ran by Michael's to check out the vases they had, and look at one mom thinks would work, and they have several that I think will work, and for only about $2-$3 a piece :) This way, we can order bulk roses from either my florist or Publix or something, for much cheaper than having the florist do the arrangements. We're still planning on getting the bouquest, bouts, and corsages from Mrs. Nelda (the florist :)

- I got my first spray tan :) A tanning salon right down the road from our apartment does Mystic tans, so I decided to give it a try Saturday afternoon. I was very nervous it was going to turn out orange or something, but I think it came out really nice! It looks very natural, and is just enough color for me. I need to do a little better with the blending lotion on my hands and feet, cause they look pretty funny, but I'm sure I'll figure it out :) Now just to see how long it lasts!

- Emily's flower girl dress and accessories are in already :) One more thing to check off the list! If only all of my bridesmaids were as organized as Jenn!

Hope you all have a wonderful week! We're getting closer and closer to the big day!!

More checks!

We're less than 100 days away! And there is still so much to do! But we've gotten alot done in the last couple of weeks.

- Tuxes are picked! Brian and I went last weekend and picked out tuxes - which was the easiest wedding planning we've done so far! We went with a simple black tux, a white vest & tie for Brian, navy vests & ties for the groomsmen and dad, white shirt, black & silver cufflinks, and black shoes. All the guys need to do is go in to get measured by May 23rd. We're picking up and dropping off the tuxes at the Gainesville store, to make it easier on everyone (and they're due back the next day, so this way we can drop them off on the way to Orlando.) Brian should be contacting all the guys with the group name & number for when they go to get measured. I think the tuxes we picked will look great!

- We applied for our Passports!!! Hopefully our applications go through smoothly and we should have our Passports in about 3 weeks :)

- I figured out how to print our invitations!!! And they look great!! We're using a white pearl metallic paper for the invites & RSVPs, and a pink metallic paper for the reception cards. The paper looks great, and feels heavy and nice. I ordered the paper and it should be here this week, then its time to print, print, print!

- I've also entered the guestlist into the guestlist tool on The Knot. This is a cool feature that lets you catergorize people in many different ways (so I can seperate them by out-of-towners, or even who all is invited to the rehearsal dinner.) It is also an easy way to track RSVPs, so I'm glad I got it entered.

- I came up with an idea for the Ushers (my brothers). Mom and dad kept asking if I wanted them in the same tuxes as the groomsmen, which I really don't since they're NOT groomsmen. So I think we should put them in black suits and find them navy & pink ties :) Like this:

What do you all think? I'm reallly liking this idea, and this way they won't match the groomsmen, but its still something special thats wedding related.

- My trip to Florida is set! I'll be in Florida from March 25-31. So hopefully in this week I'll be able to get the flowers and the cake finalized. That Friday I'll be going to Gainesville with mom and she wants to do some shopping for her wedding outfit. That Saturday a family friend from church is throwing me my first shower :) I'm really excited. Then Monday afternoon I'm taking mom and our photographer to Camp Weed to show them the space, get ideas from mom on decorating (she's much better at spacial visualizations than I am), and get any unanswered questions answered. It'll be a busy week, but it will be great to finally get some of this stuff done.

I think that's all I have to update on for now :) We're getting so close!! Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Hi :)

Long time, no update, I know. We've been working hard on getting the apartment finished, then I was sick most of last week. But, the apartment is finally done, save a few minor details, and I'm feeling better :) Brian's family came to visit this weekend, and I was very glad to finally have someone over and be able to show off our new place :)

On to wedding stuff :)

I got our photobook and it turned out Great!! I'm really happy with the quality and think it will make a really neat guestbook for the reception!

I'm still working on finding the right paper for our invitations. The first paper I got was too silvery. I've got some nice new samples though - one is a white linen paper, and the other is white with a hint of metallic in it. I just can't get the printer to work with them! Brian said he'll take a look at it, and I'll try again now that I'm feeling better. Hopefully one of these papers will be perfect!

I think we've settled on Emily's flowergirl dress. David's Bridal has some colored dresses, so she can match the bridesmaids instead of trying to find one that matches my dress (which is hard to do!) So Emily will be in a cute little marine dress. And Jenn - I think any white basket will work for the petals, I'm not going to be real picky on that, I just think white would look the best. So let me know if you want to find one or want me too.

Brian and I are going to pick out tuxes this weekend, so we'll get that out of the way, finally :)

I think that's about it...all the bridesmaids have their dresses, except Kim, but she's got a plan for hers :) I'm still trying to figure out when I can go to Florida, and I'm thinking I might use my tax refund for that ticket...I've toyed with driving, but not sure I want to do that, though it'd be cheaper. I'm still trying to find a job, also, so that might determine when/how I go. I'll make it down one way or another.

Hope you all are having a wonderful February! We're getting so close to the wedding!!

We're in Texas!

We made it to Texas this weekend! I LOVE our new apartment!!! Its soooooo much nicer than the last one! And the office staff seems really nice and maintenance seems fast - I turned in our move-in checklist this morning and told her that the garbage disposal was broken, and the maintenance guy was here within an hour! I was impressed :)

I'm still working on getting everything put away - there is so much storage here! I still need Brian to go through some bins of his electronics, and I need to grab a bookcase or 2 at Target for all of our books and other things. Then all we need is to hang our diplomas and art and some photos and the apartment will be all put together! I'm very excited :)

Wedding plans are coming along, too. I ordered our photobook yesterday from Picaboo. I hope it turns out nice! I had a coupon for 25% off if I ordered this week, so I went ahead and got it. It should be here in about a week, so I'll put up some photos when I get it!

I also ordered some pretty pearly paper so I can start working on printing the invitations and get those all settled. I have the design pretty much figured out, I just need to make sure the printer will print them right. I also need to decide if I'm going to just print the flourish design on them, or find a cool stamp and stamp them. I'll probably print a few to see how they look, and look around for a stamp that catches my eye.

Next is picking out Emily's flower girl dress, and figuring when I should go to Florida. I'll probably end up going early March and then again in late April/early May just so I can get things done. A friend from church that I used to babysit for has offered to throw me a shower at her house whenever I'm down, so I'm very excited and thought it was very sweet of her!

I think that's it for now! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!!
